A voice for your ceremony, anywhere in France

The ceremony is fifteen minutes everybody remembers and the hardest part of the day to get right musically. Guests are seated in silence, outdoors more often than not, and there is no room for a technical fault. A processional that has to stretch as your father walks slowly. A reading that needs the officiant to be heard by row eight. Nourith sings ceremonies across France and treats them as the most exposed performance of the day, because they are.

Questions

Can the ceremony be booked on its own?

Yes. A ceremony can be booked on its own, from 1,500 EUR with Nourith alone and from 2,500 EUR with a trio, or as the opening of a full evening. The fee covers four to six pieces sung across the ceremony itself. You can add two or three more while your guests are being seated, and two or three during the congratulations afterwards, which are the two stretches of silence couples forget to plan for.

What if the processional runs long or short?

A live singer solves it. A recording ends when it ends. A live performance holds the last phrase, adds a verse or closes as the aisle empties, which is why an entrance never feels rushed or padded when a musician is watching the door rather than a timer.

Who provides the microphone for the officiant and the vows?

It can come with the music, and usually should. Vows outdoors are inaudible past the third row without amplification. When the ceremony is booked with the music, a discreet system for the officiant and the couple is part of the technical set-up rather than a separate hire from another supplier.

What can she sing during the ceremony?

You choose the pieces and she brings the arrangement and her ear. She sings in English, French, Hebrew and Arabic. The order she performs most often runs Can't Help Falling in Love with You for the groom's entrance, At Last for the bride's, Stand By Me during the signing and L-O-V-E as you walk back out married. The Way You Look Tonight and My Funny Valentine are the other entrances couples choose, and Dream a Little Dream of Me, Fly Me to the Moon, All of Me, What a Wonderful World, Your Song, La Vie en rose and L'Hymne à l'amour hold the moments in between. Every couple takes a different path through it, and each choice is discussed with you and rehearsed.
